With 700hp, the GT2 RS is the most powerful road-going 911 ever made - and also the most expensive Porsche on sale in India.
Having launched the 911 GT3 RS earlier this year, Porsche has now launched another potent variant of its iconic sportscar: the 911 GT2 RS has arrived, and it has been priced at Rs 3.88 crore (ex-showroom).
Having made its debut roughly a year ago at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new 911 GT2 RS is the most powerful road-going 911 in history. Its 3.8-litre flat-six engine has been tuned to put out a colossal 700hp and 750Nm of torque. Porsche's seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox has also been beefed up to handle the additional power.
All of those 700 horses are directed solely at the rear wheels. The GT2 RS has a claimed 0-100kph time of 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 340kph. That makes it as fast as the revered 918 Spyder, and it's also the fastest production car to lap the Nurburgring in just 6m 47.3sec.
It's not just the power that makes the 911 GT2 RS as rapid as it is. Porsche has trimmed a lot of weight from the standard 911 by including a carbon fibre bonnet, front wings, exterior mirror casings, air ducts surrounds, a magnesium roof and a titanium exhaust. All this helps bring the 911 GT2 RS' weight down to just 1,470kg, which can be cut by a further 30kg by opting for the Weissach Package, which adds a carbon fibre roof and magnesium alloy wheels.
Think this is the most attractive 911 ever made, or do you have another favourite? Let us know in the comments.
