This is the second Classic 350 model to get a rear disc; no ABS yet.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 can now be had with a rear disc brake in the Redditch Red colour scheme. Before this, you could only get a rear disc brake on the Classic 350 in Gunmetal Grey. Like the grey-coloured bike, the rear disc brake-equipped red variant is priced at Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both bikes cost around Rs 8,000 more than their standard rear drum brake-equipped equivalents.
The Classic 350 is, by far, the company’s most popular model. This year, the bike maker has averaged around 50,000 units of the model every month. Powering this bike is the same air-cooled, 346cc single-cylinder engine making 19.8hp and 28Nm of torque and paired to a five-speed gearbox.
The Classic 350 employs a single downtube frame and gets a 280mm single front disc, along with a 240mm disc brake at rear; both are the same size as the ones seen on Royal Enfield’s 500cc offerings. While these 500cc models get dual-channel ABS in global markets, India is still yet to have the safety tech on offer on any of the RE models. It is, however, likely that the upcoming twin-cylinder bikes from the bike maker will be the first to offer ABS.
