Maybe you shouldn’t ride a bike if you are afraid to scuff your boots.

Did not know my left shoe had enemies. Wonder if it fits for those who ride in flip flops or sandals? They need to make a right shoe protector for those who will be addressing their bros they see wearing one of these with a swift kick to the groin so they do not scuff their boot in doing so!

Each to their own…I always thought a few scuffs on the old clod hoppers was kind of a badge of honor.

    @ Tom – Yeah!
    @grmp – Good one.

Shifter scuffs on my shoe are a badge of honor. They’re also a statement that I ride and I’m not one of those people who wear m/c apparel who have never even ridden. Furthermore, the holes in my jeans were put there through hard work, not by some fashion designer.

Perfect for me. I ride to work every day and instead of wrecking my work shoes or having to carry a pair, Slip this on and off. Guess it makes me a poser in your eyes. Sensible in mine.

H.D.’s heel toe shifter was developed for this reason-cops don’t like scuff marks on their spit shined boots..

seems a tad on the effeminate side…maybe they should’ve shown it on a 6in spiked heal on a female foot..

This actually makes sense to me. 500 ostrich skin boots could use a little protection from my pegs on the way to my fancy white collar ergonomic work facility.

Still think I’d rather just change my boots out once I get to the office though.

    RE:
“… Maybe you shouldn’t ride a bike if you are afraid to scuff your boots …”

30 some years of riding to work left me with a closet full-a shoes, all of-em with a dark-worn spot over one arch.

    A “badge of honor”…….???
Well, maybe only for those trying to imprecise others…..

If ya really “live & breath it” recognition is irrelevant, the point is the ride to & from work.
    (rain or shine)

I need a right shifter too. That being said I now have to clean the mudd off my boot protector and my boots? More work, think I’ll stick with the muddy boots. ..H

I find on a long ride if I wear my left patent leather dress shoe from the tux I wore to a friends wedding, it is shiny and hard enough to avoid scuffing, that way I can wear my old worn out boot on my right foot and look righteous to those who ride on my right side …..problem solved

  13. 13 Seymour Feb 22nd, 2015 at 5:41 pm

haha nicker you are in need of some “imprecising”

“Badge of honor” Ha! Badge of honor if you wore that ridiculous accessory in the hipster bar or better yet starbucks. The John Wayne gene is fading from society for sure.

Well….We’ve all heard about kidney belts?

    How about a “testicle” belt?

    no?

    WAIT I got it!

It’s for those long rides with the ole lady behind me! It looks like it would fit perfectly over her mou*#@ (sound of rolling pin upside my head)

I like the skuff mark on the boot also . But you will always see the fashion / style bikers out & about . walked by a guy this morning @ work , he was putting a cover over his “import dresser” that has muli colored LED lights flashing all over it . He seemed pretty proud …………………………………….

Foot clutch and hand shifter like on my vintage Indians equals no scuffs. Nice to see someone thinking. Congrats.

John Wayne gene fading…….that is on point. I’ll be referencing this a lot but my guess is most won’t know who he was or what it means.

    Seymour,

    RE: being impressed……

Well, there was this guy at work who rode his Beemer in every day.
Although his was newer than mine it had the better part of 150K miles on the clock.
The stickers on his saddlebags (instead of Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls) were from places like Argentina and Ireland.

In Crescent City CA i once asked for a scenic rout recommendation. An older German MC tourist reached into his saddlebag and pulled out a well worn leather-bound atlas of the world and said:
“Oh, so your just out for a little ride”…….

You don’t have to look very hard to be impressed by real MC people.

An even-cut 2-1/4 section of 1″ shrink tube shrank like OEM.

I’m trying the ribbed-knob prophylactic out on a new pair of brown engineer boots, that would otherwise eat scrap, first time out.
I’m not competing, or ranking anyone’s play – only looking for a cure. And I will so let you all know of the outcome. Blue tape worked. Tried a wrapped-knob on new, brown, Red Wing buckle-engineers before I returned them to Amazon. Not a blemish topside. Will clear shrink tube perform the same?

Thank you Town Moto. Your invention pushed me to “make that google search”, that had been haunting me for action. I’ve got 9-3/4″ of this flat-stock left. Let me know if you could use 4-1/2″ to test-out.

As I sat on the bench outside the gas station, 1200 miles from home with my plain white t-shirt, jeans and brown construction boots I was approached by an outlaw biker ( 1%er) who asked to share the bench. We struck up a conversation, where he told me he had made the journey to the rally 30 years in a row, riding over 1000 miles straight through every year rain/shine. We got to talking about how many people trailer their bikes these days, and what a joke motorcycle rally’s have become. This was my first Rally, also one of my first long distance rides solo. As he left, he shook my hand and said ” remember son, it’s not what you ride, or the clothes that you wear that make you a biker. I’m glad to see you ride, keep on riding”.
