Switching From Bulb To LED

A light-emitting diode (LED) is subject to very limited wear and tear, can withstand shocks and vibrations, has a very long life while being energy efficient. Reasons why LED’s have become the new standard in the automotive industry and many others, making traditional bulbs unpractical, costly and obsolete.

So Headwinds, one of the leaders in custom motorcycle headlights, now offers a 7” rugged solid state LED headlamp providing  improved visibility in a non-glare, brighter, whiter color with a superior light pattern.

Die-cast aluminum reflector protection, easy-to-install, equipped with a hi/lo beam and DOT approved. Contact Headwinds 626-359-8044 or visit

Really? Compared to the cost of my Surefire Hellfighter, that’s a deal!

I have a Truck-Lite on my 2009 FLHTC and am Very Pleased with it.

I can see both sides of the road as well as a longer distance ahead than other lights I have used.

When riding with friends my light is better than theirs and when behind them they have told me it did not blind them in their mirrors.

It comes with a three year warranty and is available through local auto parts as well.

Because it is a LED it draws very little amperage and would be a benefit to some of the older motorcycles that have a problem with keeping a battery charged due to the amount of amperage some of the other lights require to work.

Wait 3 weeks and they will be $99 and even then profit is about 500% . The US Companies have surrendered to the Chinese about a 100% in LED. They have done most of the transitions from incandescent to LED and Halogen to LED. This Gig is all theirs.

Becuase it’s a safety issue, it will trickle down eventually
Look at the new H-D CVO Road Glide
Before long it’ll be standard equpiment.
But like everyone is saying, not before they suck every last extra dime they can out of you

Truly the price will come down. Middle man always ups the price. Even 18Bravo’s Surefire Hellfighter is actually about the same price as the H-D model discussed, but you at least get a housing. ..would look pretty bad on a bike though.

Oh it’s been done already, and it is bad, if you mean bad in a good way.

LED’s may soon be a requirement for manufactures due to DOT regulations and the insurance and legal communities.
